As well as the conditions imposed - albeit privileged ones - by nature, we work every day to optimize them in order to obtain the best grapes. Grapes that will give shape and flavour to every one of our wines. This is "teamwork" with nature, in which the climatic factors take part in an active, natural way. We do the rest...
The path we follow may not be the simplest, but it is the most respectful of the environment. For this reason, we do not use herbicides. Instead we carry out manual and mechanical work throughout the process of bud break, defoliation and removal of excess fruit that the vines are subject to. Work that takes time and increases costs but in exchange, protects the environment and contributes to improving the quality of the grape.
The conduction system we use is also the result of teamwork with nature. It is a mobile trellis system that enables us to exploit the hours of sunshine we have in Mallorca and the humidity of the leaves and bunches of grapes. In this way we can optimize the microclimate in the interior of the plant and considerably reduce plant health treatments. In extremely dry years, we use the trickle irrigation system, which supplies the precise amount of water needed, focusing on increasing the phenolic ripeness of the grapes without increasing quantity.
And this is how, from our 12 hectares of soil and everyday work, we obtain singular bouquets and nuances which not only identify each and every one of our wines, but also identify us: Vinyes i Bodegues Miquel Oliver.
